You will manage the daily operations of the textile workshop, supervising prisoners engaged in the production and repair of a range of items for the wider prison estate.
You will set work schedules, manage quality control, ensure health and safety compliance, and work closely with Work & Skills Coaches to embed employability skills and support prisoners’ personal development.
You will support students at different stages of their development, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for successful careers in engineering and manufacturing. The position follows a structured 36-hour week with dedicated time for preparation and administration.
You will have the following: NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics - Essential Full LGV / HGV licence ID desirable but not essential. Driver CPC is desirable but not essential as training can be provided. Experience within an HGV Technician role - desirable, not essential.
