You will work alongside the SENCo and class teachers to provide in-class support and small-group teaching in Key Stage 3-4. A calm and patient manner are essential, as is a nurturing approach. A good understanding of the academy’s teaching and learning and behaviour policies are desirable, and specific training will be provided to support you in the role.
You will work closely with the pupils on a 1 to 1 and small group basis to support them across a range of academic lessons.
You should have a calm and consistent approach and be committed to supporting pupils to make progress and overcome learning barriers.
You will work closely with the SENDCO and subject teachers, providing assessments and reports.
You willl need to have experience with Phonics training and supporting children in schools. We require a minimum of two references and a DBS on the Update Sercive.
You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for our all our service users.
You will support the people at our Barnet service to maintain a healthy state of wellbeing mentally, physically and emotionally.
