You will assess the nature of each emergency and provide the necessary support for the service user.

You will offer reassurance and make them feel as calm as possible throughout the visit.

You will work alongside Connect Customer Advisors and other associated professionals to provide a service throughout the Middlesbrough Area.

You must have a genuine interest in promoting independence and supporting customers to regain their confidence and skills. This may be after a period of rehabilitation in a residential setting or on returning home from hospital. We also receive a large number of community referrals for customers who may be struggling to manage at home with an identified need.

You will report to one of our Finance Business Partners, carrying out, and/or leading on, a variety of tasks providing support across the Education & Partnership Directorate, including revenue and capital budget monitoring, forecasting, Modelling, budget setting, closure of accounts, completion of statutory Government returns, and processing of grant claims and sensitivity analysis.

You will need to be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and be a real team player. Knowledge of housing benefit regulations and council tax support or experience processing would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will need excellent communication skills as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to work within a fast paced environment and have experience of the full range of welfare benefits.
