You will provide immediate and ongoing emotional support, helping colleagues manage the demands of their roles and ultimately improving the quality of support delivered to young learners preparing for release. Key Responsibilities Support & Reflective Practice - Deliver immediate and follow-up debrief sessions after incidents or disclosures.
You will be working in a specialist primary and secondary school for children who have an EHCP for their Autism, associated conditions, speech and language and communication challenges, traumas they have suffered, anxiety and depression, and associated SEN conditions.
You will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and looking to develop their skills within a supportive and well-structured school environment.
You will be focusing on the students social and emotional development, whilst keeping them engaged on tasks and demonstrating a great ability to care. Building relationships with other staff to assist with the general running of a typical school day. As a teaching assistant with younger children, you may encounter children who have complex needs and challenging behaviour.
You will have previous experience in a similar role ideally within the rail or rail systems sector
You will work closely with the pastoral and SEND teams to deliver mentoring, restorative interventions and structured support strategies for pupils at risk of exclusion or disengagement.

You will be supporting 1-1 & small groups The successful candidate will have experience working with young people 11-16 years , hold strong communication skills & be flexible when supporting the ever-changing needs of pupils.
