You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and a minimum of 2 years work of volunteering experience involving children.

You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy and there is a requirement to achieve a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area within 3 years of taking up post. To be appointed at grade E:

You should hold a Practitioner Qualification in Counselling (minimum SCQF 8) in Counselling.

You must also hold full registration on an appropriate register, approved by the PSA e.g. BACP, PTUK, COSCA, BAPT.

You must be Qualified to deliver on-line counselling.

You will provide a comprehensive administrative and support service to the Council and its Committees, as well as other bodies serviced by the Council, including attending and clerking meetings, collating and issuing papers for meetings and processing reports and correspondence.

You should hold a SVQ2 or equivalent SCQF level 5 qualification in an administration related subject. Where you do not hold this, a minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative role is essential. A positive and enthusiastic team player is required who enjoys interacting with children and adults in a busy environment.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service This post is subject to Level 1 Disclosure Scotland clearance.
