You will be an experienced Software developer , working as part of a dedicated software development team, under the guidance of senior members on all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

You will have a strong willingness to learn and seek solutions and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities.

You will be working on state-of-the-art automation and control, applying our novel AI approaches to real-world environments, building AI controllers for industrial customers and their suppliers. This dynamic role is perfect for someone with a broad interest in disciplines such as mechatronics, control engineering, industrial processes, robotics, simulation and modelling, and software engineering.

You will be leading a team of 10-12, with a budget of circa £1M and indirectly leading a larger team of strategic and whole plant partners to oversee all Engineering Functional support to the UKIFS organisation and STEP programme.

You will hold a First degree in relevant field, or equivalent, as well as significant experience in the following areas: Professional software design and development, ideally in a service based technical software environment

You will also have a technical/theoretical understanding of methods, systems and approaches relating to technical software engineering.

You will do this by analysing the complexities and subtleties of how digital information is formatted across a wide range of types, including office suites, media, images, 3D, GIS and various specialist formats to build an internal knowledge base covering file formats and the tools that manipulate them.
