You will study towards the Product Design and Development Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship standard through the University of Lancashire. Your training will be delivered through a blended learning model that combines in-person and online teaching. Each semester begins with a three-day block of face-to-face delivery, followed by weekly online sessions throughout the term.
You will be acting as the primary interface between the project delivery team, the design consultants and the client. This role ensures the efficient coordination, integration, and constructability of civil designs, from conception through to handover, ensuring compliance with client specifications, tie-in with MEICA disciplines and addressing regulatory requirements.
You will be experienced in producing technical outputs such as technical specifications, sizing and designing pumping systems and aeration systems, schedules, and reports and familiar with collaborative planning reviews and designs of solutions.
You will work on a wide variety of projects across a variety of major long-term frameworks with water companies across the UK.
You will work within a core of scientific and engineering experts, supporting a range of clients, primarily from the water sector but also the energy and infrastructure sectors.
You will have extensive experience in 2D / 3D hydrodynamic and water quality modelling and either have attained or be working towards chartered membership in a relevant professional institution.
