Trainee Optical Assistant jobs in Glasgow

You will be expected to develop towards a full Technical Superintendent position (after completing training/familiarisation period). Due to the requirements of the job, the successful candidate will be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of Glasgow. Applicants must hold the current, full and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.

You will be responsible for preparing patients for their eye examination and explaining what each stage of the eye test involves, completing pre-screening examinations and booking appointments for customers.

You will also be dispensing spectacles and contact lenses as well as dealing with repairs and adjustments while ensuring stock has been received by the supplier.

You will also be responsible for the following: - Pre-operative testing; conducting tests prior to examination and treatment and assisting during the consent appointment process, including providing information to patients prior to their IOL or LVC procedure.

You will lead and advise on a wide range of HR activities across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, occupational health, performance appraisal, development, and policy compliance.

You will ensure all work is delivered to a high standard and that performance objectives are consistently achieved.

You will coordinate the deployment of both employed and self-contracted clinicians, including Doctors, Optometrists and Healthcare Support Staff, and liaise with approved staffing agencies when required. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth delivery of patient care and the optimisation of clinical resources.
