You will work in four different parts of our firm for six months each.

You will ensure that driver and vehicle standards align with company expectations, coordinate new starter inductions and maintain accurate training records.

You must hold an industry-recognised Driver Assessor certificate, an up-to-date HGV Driver CPC, and a valid Digi card. Proficiency in tachograph analysis systems and IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, PowerPoint) are essential.

You will work on a rail milling train, a highly specialised on-track machine that uses precision cutting heads to remove rail defects and restore rail profile. Rail milling is cleaner and more controlled than rail grinding, producing metal swarf rather than heavy airborne dust, and requires strong capability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and safety-critical systems.

You must be fully flexible between the hours of 07:00am-23:00pm (12.21 per hour) or night shifts only between the hours of 23:00pm-06:30am (£13.02 per hour)

You will have a flexible approach to working hours and have experience of working in a customer focused environment and be willing and enthusiastic to work as part of a team.

You must have literacy, numeracy and IT skills and it is desirable that you have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
