You will report to the Senior Support worker, working in a small team to provide practical support, you will build on Service Users existing skills and abilities whilst respecting their individual needs and choices.
You will be using IT to update documents such as support plans, risk assessments and will have a good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and assessments of capacity.
You will help clients with daily living activities, personal care, medication, household tasks, companionship, and ensuring their well-being and safety at all times. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Health SupportProvide personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
You will be providing care and support individually tailored to the needs and wishes of people with learning disabilities.
You will work together to identify and achieve their goals, enabling them to have choice and control over their lives.
You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. What we're looking for: A genuine passion for supporting others. You will need to successfully complete an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare before you complete 24 months of Support Work.
You will be working with young people aged 11 to 18 who have been placed into the care system for numerous reasons with an array of disorders, behaviours and needs and therefore require individuals who have the confidence, patience and skill set to successfully work with these young people and make a positive impact on their lives.
You should be qualified to QCF level 5 or be working towards.
