You will be working in a mainstream Primary School. The role will be 1-2-1 based with a student who has Additional Needs (ASD). The school's mission is to challenge, enrich, and empower every learner, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (don't worry if you haven't got one, we can help you get one) and 2 references covering the past two years. Most importantly you need a caring, dedicated and professional approach to working with young children.
You will be expected to establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School, and to promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.

You will be based within the Art department, supporting the Art Teacher at all times throughout the school day. As you will be supporting pupils with SEMH, the school are looking for someone who has strong behaviour management skills and experience with SEMH, however experience is not essential.
