You will assist people with planning for their future and prevent the effects of social isolation and loneliness in their lives. Whilst experience is always welcome, full training is provided alongside regular support and supervision from your Service Manager.

You will be asked to share proof of this prior to receiving any offer of employment.

You should have a Level III qualification in Social Care or equivalent and a minimum of two years' experience in social care , including experience in supervising staff and coordinating support provision . Closing date for applications is 4pm, 28 May 2025 .

You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person-centred care and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes within their personal plan, which you will keep up to date and relevant.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of service users and staff within the building. This role will involve supporting staff to provide a high standard of care to service users and to be the lead member of staff when dealing with critical unplanned events which involve contacting Out of Hours Managers and/or emergency services.

You will be required to work independently and as part of a team. Our service is committed to the training of student dietitians and other health care professionals. The department encourages innovation and supports continuous professional development. The post will be based at the Borders General Hospital.
