Procurement Assistant jobs in Reading
You will be responsible for all the commercial and operational aspects of a portfolio of suppliers.
You will join one of our established and expanding Commercial Teams, and throughout your career at Thames Water, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of major projects ranging in value from £25k to £500M.
You will report into the Principal Procurement Manager and be responsible for developing and delivering strategic sourcing events and supplier relationship management, supporting one of the UK's largest and most strategic infrastructure investments over the next 15 years.
You will ensure compliance with government procurement regulations, and AWE's structured procurement processes.
You will help deliver a high quality, safe and effective pharmacy purchasing and distribution service to our in‐patient wards (community health and mental health services) and our out‐patient services. We are a small friendly team, based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading where our dispensary, pharmacy stores and purchasing office is located.
You will design, document, implement, and continuously improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
You will create and maintain process and policies in line with best practices and organisational needs, e.g. risk, sustainability and compliance and control requirements.
You will be a key member of the wider finance team, ensuring suppliers meet their contractual obligations, managing relationships, and overseeing tendering processes. This brand new role offers the chance to shape our procurement function as the organisation grows. Job responsibilities
