principal data engineer jobs in Dundee

You will lead and grow a portfolio that turns research into evidence-based strategy, options appraisal, business cases and clear recommendations to improve outcomes. This permanent role will be based in one of our offices (Dundee or Newcastle) in line with your preferences.

You will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, resolving complex L3 technical issues, and developing automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline operational workflows. A critical element is active monitoring using industry-standard tools to anticipate and mitigate potential failures, maintaining strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

You will play a key role in designing and implementing robust APIs, user interfaces, and data pipelines that power our in-house system. Responsibilities Develop, and maintain in-house Python-based applications using Flask. Build and optimise both user interfaces and APIs. Develop and manage ETL pipelines with concurrency to handle large-scale data processing.
