You will be required to undertake therapy support work (for occupational therapy and physiotherapy) to provide treatment and rehabilitation to patients on the orthopaedic wards at the Lister Hospital and to support in the discharge planning of patients.

You will be accepting patients being referred by a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist and carry your own patient caseload.

You will have an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Experience working as a Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy support worker would be desirable.

You will have a minimum of one year's care experience as a healthcare assistant, care assistant, carer, home care assistant or domiciliary care assistant and are looking for a different approach, a nicer work environment and a more satisfying role. You will mainly be working on the highly specialised male ASD wards. In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service users diagnosis and identified needs.

You will be an integral member of the Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and OT department.

You will be an integral part of a large, well established MDT with extensive experience to draw from.

You will play a key part in helping to develop my day-to-day activities. There may be occasions where you need to work at short notice to cover sickness absence or annual leave of other workers. You may also need to support me to have short breaks and holidays. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check.

You will receive regular, meaningful supervision and attend in person team meetings, we also schedule regular wellbeing ‘check ins’ and bitesize sessions, creating a safe space to build relationships with your team and peers.
