You will be required to undertake a key role in a broad range of drainage design schemes for Council and Water Company projects. There will be a strong emphasis on flooding and environmental improvement projects incorporating SuDS. As well as delivering the drainage design, you will be responsible in supporting the leadership and development of our drainage capability.
You must have the right to live and work in the UK and must have lived in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last three years - Five GCSEs grades 4-9 (including Maths and English language) - Three A Levels at grade B or above, or equivalent e.g. BTEQ level 3 grades DDM.
You will work at our highly successful site in Polmadie, Glasgow where we design and manufacture a range of hydrodynamic fluid-film bearings, active magnetic bearing systems and seals for applications in high-performing turbomachinery and industrial rotating equipment, principally for the oil & gas, power generation, marine and industrial markets.
You will benefit from theory-based learning as well as the opportunity to develop practical skills in IT, which you will apply as you gain a valuable insight into the financial industry.
You will need a minimum of 4-Scottish Higher Grades at BBBB including either Mathematics, Computing Science, or Physics, and preferably National 5 English at grade C or above.
You will attend university for 1 day a week and you will be required to attend Thales in Glasgow for the other 4 days of the working week. Delivered through a blended learning model of online and on-campus delivery, this degree has been designed in partnership with employers from across different industry sectors and will meet the criteria for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
You will lead, support, and coordinate the night-shift maintenance team, ensuring equipment availability, safety, and performance targets are achieved.
You will also work closely with production and day engineering teams to ensure effective handovers and continuous improvement.
You will be learning the engineering processes to support the front-line Royal Navy within HMNB Clyde and beyond, working closely with a team of professional engineers to provide first class support on various naval systems, including sonar, electronic warfare, communications, masts and periscopes.
