You will use a range of manufacturing methods including casting, machining and 3D printing, all of which you will receive training on. As this is a fast-moving start-up, we are looking for someone who thrives on autonomy, can hit the ground running, and doesn't require much guidance.
You will shape the core technical direction of A1 – model selection, training strategy, infrastructure, and long‐term architecture.
You will have full autonomy to experiment with frontier models (LLaMA, Mistral, Qwen, Claude‐compatible architectures) and build new approaches where existing ones fall short.
You should have experience in traditional ML / data science but also be up to speed with the latest agentic AI trends.
You should also be able to blend the long term thinking necessary in AI research with the urgency required for a startup to maintain the lead.
You will support assembly and machining processes, collaborate with various technical teams, and train apprentices. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. A positive attitude, fine motor skills, and good communication are essential.
