Learning Disability Support Worker jobs in Sittingbourne
You will be working with disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 17 supporting them to progress towards independence.
You will be required to work alongside and in partnership with other professionals to develop plans to meet the care and support needs that have been identified.
You will be working with children with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities and communication difficulties.
You will help identify triggers and barriers to learning, as well as implementing your knowledge of psychological theory and apply it in the classroom.
You will work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and other professionals to ensure our pupils receive personalised, inclusive and nurturing support both in and out of the classroom. Your Key Responsibilities: * Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND. Work as a whole classroom assistant to support the teacher.
You will use these practices daily to support each persons unique needs. Your training will help you become confident in using PBS strategies to create a safe, caring, and supportive environment.
You will be required to work a mix of early and late shifts, some weekends and some bank holidays.
