You will be responsible for day-to-day machining activities from programming (from scratch), setting and operating CNC machines. Predominately turning orientated with some milling.
You will also be responsible for managing two other CNC Machinists, controlling jobs from start to finish, through inspection and into packaging.
You will lead a large, multi-skilled engineering function of around 50 colleagues, including two Team Managers and teams made up of engineers, technicians, technical assistants, and an apprentice. Operating within a 24/7 environment, you will balance hands-on technical troubleshooting with strategic leadership, ensuring automation and MHE systems perform safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way
You will ensure that each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management
You will be expected to lead from the front, you will be hands on most of the time, working on the line and dining area
You will be working on a portfolio of regulated water and utilities infrastructure projects, supporting both pre and post contract commercial activities.
You will work closely with delivery teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders to ensure commercial controls are robust, risks are managed proactively and value is maximised throughout the project lifecycle.
