You will need good knowledge of using Control Systems to control the hydraulics, things like closed-loop control, motion control, servo control, PID tuning etc.
You will be working on complex, bespoke test rigs that operate like “testing robots”, combining hydraulics, electronics, controls, software and mechanical engineering at a very high level.
You will be based at Finahm in Coventry, the heart of our operating patch. The programme requires you to complete placements throughout your time in the role, gaining exposure in different areas of the department so that you are equipped with the right skills to build your career here at Severn Trent.
You must hold formal mechanical qualifications (and ideally be apprentice trained too), with proven experience of supporting heavy hydraulics within a robust manufacturing or heavy engineering environment. The role is commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Marston Green, Rugby, Kenilworth and Solihull.
