You will be supporting a pupil in year 9 on a 1:1 basis that has profound SEMH due to previous trauma within their home life.
You will offer trauma-informed pupil-led support, working at the pupils' pace to ensure that they are aware that you are their to support them, not to discredit them.
You will take more of an observational approach to his support, as he is extremely independent and working at the curriculum. He can at times be dis-regulated and lose focus. To support this and retain focus, you will implement positive behaviour strategies such as brain breaks, movement breaks or take him outside the class to regulate before reintegrating back into lessons.
