You will be working with young people aged 11 to 18 who have been placed into the care system for numerous reasons with an array of disorders, behaviours and needs and therefore require individuals who have the confidence, patience and skill set to successfully work with these young people and make a positive impact on their lives.
You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK. Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behavours, supporting vulnerable individuals with learning disabilities, autism and personality disorders. PVMA or CPI training would be advantageous, but this can be provided.
You will have the ability to advocate for families dealing with imprisonment, promoting their human rights and ensuring their needs are considered, and views are heard at all levels.
You will have the ability to develop referral pathways for families, prisoners and other professionals to access the service.
You will work as one of the PACT Family team and will be based primarily in the prison's visitor centre and visits hall providing support, advice and guidance to families visiting prisoners, facilitating prison visits and family days and supporting the play service.
