You will be supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, some of whom may be non-verbal, across EYFS, KS1, or KS2. The role may involve 1:1 support or small-group work, helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and regulate emotionally within the school environment.
You will be supporting them developing their day to day and academic skills as well as their social emotional needs, in preparation for their transition to secondary education.
You will have a timetable to provide interventions and cover classes across the school.
You should hold either a relevant teaching assistant qualification (such as a CACHE Level 3) or a university degree (although this does not necessarily need to relate to childcare or education). Roles for university graduates and Level 3 qualified teaching assistants are available in both primary and secondary settings in Brent.
