You will be part of a unique team who will drive the Care staff team to not only facilitate positive practice but you will have the opportunity to shape the practice of our Service.
You will believe in the benefits of a team approach placing the child at the centre of the care plan whilst being committed to partnership working by practicing this methodology with all stakeholders.
You will be required to register with the SSSC, complete mandatory training within a timeframe and the commitment to studying for an SVQ in Care & Support if you do not already hold this qualification. We encourage all applicants to study the provided job description to familiarise themselves with the role and the duties involved.
You must have proven childcare experience and a qualification meeting the Scottish Social Services Council requirements for Practitioners. The ability to speak and read Gaelic is essential. The appointment may lead to career progression to the post of Playleader (£30,492 - £32,942 per annum, pro rata, inclusive of Distance Islands Allowance).
You will lead and nurture a dedicated team of social workers, manage the delivery of Social Work services within a specific professional and/or geographical area, uphold excellence in professional practice and risk management, handle budget management ensuring resources are used effectively, and conduct staff supervision, offering support and strategic deployment.
You will assist people with planning for their future and prevent the effects of social isolation and loneliness in their lives. We adopt a person-centered approach to working with individuals who require support for a variety of reasons including Mental Health issues, Autism, Physical & Learning Disabilities.
You will be asked to share proof of this prior to receiving any offer of employment.
You will also understand plans, drawings, procedures and standards when manufacturing, repairing or altering any system.
You must be competent in operating power tools and workshop machinery. It is also important that you are comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and working over water.
