You will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues related to the design, assembly, and testing processes of production hardware. You'll be joining a fantastic team in a purpose-built modern facility where you'll be able to showcase your skills and expertise in a highly technical and challenging product supporting role.
You will respond to breakdowns, support training initiatives for print minders, and work closely with management to implement spare parts processes and reduce downtime. The Electrical Engineer will also use the electronic maintenance management system to log engineering activity and manage inventory.
You will need good knowledge of using Control Systems to control the hydraulics, things like closed-loop control, motion control, servo control, PID tuning etc.
You will be working on complex, bespoke test rigs that operate like “testing robots”, combining hydraulics, electronics, controls, software and mechanical engineering at a very high level.
You will be required to carry out all works in accordance with the lift manufacturers' specification and safety procedures and you should be available to participate in a roster system to provide 24-hour standby service, which will include some Bank Holidays.
You will also be required to be available to travel to other parts of the Channel Islands by Air or Sea, to work as required by the Company.
You will need experience using 3D AutoCAD (Inventor) or SolidWorks and any additional knowledge of electronics or PLCs would be advantageous, however PLC programming training can be provided.
You will be involved in testing the equipment and QA.
