You will be supported by colleagues and management through the year. The school is a specialist provision which offers a tailored education to young people who need that little extra. You must be prepared to support children with SEN, and therefore provide an environment where they can reach their potential in all areas. Also, you should be able to build rapports with the children and support their social and behavioural needs. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.
You will provide in-class academic support, 1:1 intervention and mentoring outside the classroom, as well as some behaviour support.
You will be responsible for supporting young learners in a variety of secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and PE.
