You should hold either a relevant teaching assistant qualification (such as a CACHE Level 3) or a university degree (although this does not necessarily need to relate to childcare or education). Roles for university graduates and Level 3 qualified teaching assistants are available in both primary and secondary settings in Tower Hamlets.

You will be on call across the school, stepping in where extra support is needed in classrooms. Outside of this, you'll be working 1:1 or 1:2 with SEN pupils, mentoring them and supporting their behaviour, emotional regulation, and wellbeing. You'll be supporting students with challenging behaviour, so confidence, consistency, and a calm approach are key.

You will provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties, helping them access learning and develop confidence in the classroom.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support and promote inclusion.

You will assist with observations, assessments, and personal care where required, while working closely with teachers and parents. A Level 3 childcare qualification is essential, along with a caring, proactive approach and strong teamwork skills. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive setting focused on early childhood development.
