You will have at least 1 years' experience working with students on the Autistic Spectrum and have experience helping with personal care. For this ASD Teaching Assistant TA role you will also need previous experience using PECs and Makaton is desirable but not essential, Physical Restraint Training/ Team-teach is also desirable.

You should hold either a relevant teaching assistant qualification (such as a CACHE Level 3) or a university degree (although this does not necessarily need to relate to childcare or education). Roles for university graduates and Level 3 qualified teaching assistants are available in both primary and secondary settings in Tower Hamlets.

You will provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties, helping them access learning and develop confidence in the classroom.
