You will create resources and an environment that caters to the needs and special interests and motivations of individual students. The successful SEN Teacher will be teaching a mixed KS3 class all of whom have a diagnosis of autism. The pupils follow a semi formal curriculum and you will be ably supported by a team of TAs all of whom are experienced and know the pupils, their routines and needs.
You will have full class responsibility and additional help within class support from teaching assistants and 1:1 LSAs'.
You will be responsible for lesson plans and delivery, marking and adapting, classroom behaviour and general care of the children in your class. There will be ample PPA time and opportunities to joint plan with teachers in adjacent year groups.
