You will be based in Teddington and will combine your interpersonal and analytical skills to engage internal and external stakeholders to identify and secure opportunities for novel work, promoting the value of metrology and EO (satellite and in situ) data within the climate modelling community.
You will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and development of national standards for the measurement temperature and you will use these facilities to deliver customer calibration services at the highest quality.
You will combine calibration work with laboratory support duties such as managing an inventory of equipment.
You will lead on developing, contracting and managing the delivery of one assigned programme.
You will also manage the performance of a matrix team, developing their capability to ensure the programme reaches its milestones, with all risk and dependencies well-managed.
You will be adept at coordinating, monitoring and steering individual projects to ensure alignment with programme objectives.
You must be willing to occasionally work offsite or abroad for limited periods of time.

You will be a highly experienced scientist with good track record (a minimum of 5 years) of working at a National Metrology Institute (NMI) in the following optical radiation metrology areas: low temperature physics and cryogenic radiometry, predictable quantum efficiency detectors, absolute radiometry and primary spectral responsivity.
