You will apply advanced engineering principles and design practices to create optimised mechanical concepts that balance performance, cost, manufacturability, durability, and serviceability. Location: Darlington (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Contract: 6 months (extension expected upon positive evaluation)

You will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! Summary of the course: Four-year apprenticeship which involves rotating across various engineering functions to maximise learning.

You will lead the design and development of critical components for major projects, ensuring innovation meets performance. The RoleIn this position, you will apply specialised engineering principles to create optimised design concepts and mechanical specifications.

You will be responsible for balancing cost, weight, and performance with manufacturing and serviceability requirements.

You will ensure that design deliverables meet the project specifications and construction requirements while enhancing team performance through focused staff training and upgraded engineering tools and systems. While this is a hybrid position, it can be based out of any Wood office, candidates who can work from Glasgow or Horsham may be prioritised.

You will work closely with manufacturing, process, quality, and R&D teams to ensure robust, high-yield production.

You will motivate and influence your own caseload of learners towards the successful and timely achievement of their apprenticeship, by developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours through a range of training days, workshops and quarterly reviews.
